Deborah Bowden first developed a love of storytelling and writing from her father, Bradley Garrison Patrick, when she was very young. In the early 1970's, Deborah began creating her own tales. She enjoys writing about animals and authoring books for children.
Deborah taught English and Creative Writing in public schools and college for 25 years. After retiring, to raise her daughter, Erin Bradleigh Bowden, Deborah honed her story-telling skills by telling her stories to Erin. Now that she is retired and Erin is grown, Deborah enjoys spending much of her time writing.
Deborah calls Nashville, Indiana her home. She has been in love with Brown County since her college friend enticed her there in the early 1970's. She visited once and knew she had found her home. Brown County is a quaint little community full of unique shops, artists workshops, craft works and much much more.
She is a member of the Writers, Readers and Poets Society of Brown County , where she serves as Treasurer. Deb is also a member of the Bartholomew County Writer's Group in Columbus, Indiana.
